Aikido For Teenagers
"Aikido fosters resilience and instills discipline."
A Means To Channel Their Frustrations
"They make hasty, poorly considered decisions & need better judgement."
“Could they benefit from an increase in confidence and overall positivity”
“When faced with difficulties, they tend to quit and fall short of achieving their goals.”
Nurturing A Teenager Demands Persistence And Patience
There exists a secure, natural, and highly impactful method to influence every facet of your child's life. It doesn't involve medication, therapy, punitive measures, or bribery to prompt behavioral changes.

Rather, it involves imparting self-discipline, instilling a strong work ethic, fostering confidence, and teaching respect to your children. This is accomplished in a manner that empowers them while also instilling humility and promoting health and fitness simultaneously.
It might sound like a miraculous remedy, but there truly is something that achieves all of this — martial arts classes.
Fostering Positive Social Interaction And Nurturing Personal Character Development
The typical friends your kids interact with daily are no longer the primary concern for character development. Now, you also have to contend with the potential negative and harmful influences of social media and the internet.
The real advantage of our classes lies in the development of character and success traits fostered through martial arts training.
From acquiring the skills and techniques of Aikido to receiving guidance and inspiration from our instructors and engaging in positive social interactions with their peers, your kids will develop a comprehensive set of skills.
YOUR TEEN WILL GROW WITH EVERY CLASS
Teenagers studying Aikido learn the benefits of self-control and discipline with each lesson.

Our classes instill core values such as discipline, respect, and persistence. Students learn that their treatment of others, both inside and outside the dojo, reflects on their character and influences their ability to achieve their goals.
Discover The Importance Of Respecting Oneself And Others
Teens can often display a surplus of attitude without a corresponding level of respect.
At Aikido Shudokan, respect, or REI, is a fundamental discipline. Students are required to treat their instructor and fellow students with respect consistently.
Ultimately, teenagers studying at Aikido Shudokan come to understand that by respecting themselves, they earn the respect of others as well.
Self-Defense Against Aggressors And Bullies
We hope our teens never have to utilize these skills in their modern lives, but akin to swimming lessons, they're available when needed.
This is why our Aikido program is committed to earnestly imparting the skills necessary for self-protection to your teens.
Yet, understanding how to defend oneself is only part of the equation.
Our classes also instill in your teens the respect and self-discipline required to de-escalate a situation, with the goal of averting violence whenever possible.
Teenagers Classes
We have been teaching teenagers for over 20 years.
Our classes incorporate a fusion of fitness and traditional martial arts. While each class follows a distinctive structure, you can anticipate learning and practicing fundamental movements and Aikido techniques relevant to those movements in every session. The class consistently integrates practical applications for self-defense, including the use of weapons such as a wooden knife or sword, as well as mastering the application of Aikido techniques in a fluid manner.

Teenagers participate in adult classes, lasting 1 hour. Within these sessions, they acquire the ability to leverage control, enhance awareness, and foster discipline—skills that extend beyond training. Our exceptional instructors lead them in mastering various falls and basic movements inherent to Aikido.
